Bonanza for movie enthusiasts

A TOTAL of 24 local theaters will show more than 200 acclaimed foreign and domestic movies next month at the 14th Shanghai International Film Festival, from June 11 to June 19, officials said yesterday.

This year's festival features a retrospective of influential Polish director Krzysztof Kieslowski, Danish film maker Bille August and China's Zheng Junli.

Movie buffs can also see the latest films, like "Pina," Wim Wenders's 3D documentary tribute to the late choreographer-dancer Pina Bausch; Danny Boyle's biographical adventure film "127 Hours"; Coen Brothers's "True Grit"; and the Danish drama "In a Better World," which won the 2011 Academy Award for Best Foreign Film.

Tickets, priced at 40 yuan (US$6.15) to 60 yuan, will go on sale early next month.
