THE Chinese writer Eileen Chang's former residence in Jing'an District will be opened as a community center in August. The house is located on Kangding Road E. and Taixing Road. The dining room of the house was a model of the dark dining room described in "Love in a Fallen City," the writer's most acclaimed work. The house will function as a center for education, fitness, conferences and official receptions. It will also become the headquarters for Eileen Chang's fans club.
