Dali gallery set for city

SHANGHAI is expected to become the fourth city in the world to have a Salvador Dali Museum next year, with increasingly more locals showing interest in the Spaniard's artworks.
The museum planner is working with the local government to select a suitable venue.
"We planned to set up the museum in the downtown area before the 2010 World Expo," said Guillaume Arnoud, a French organizer from Uwantart Gallery. "But we are still in consultation with the government."
At the moment, Dali museums have been set up in Paris, London and Dali's birthplace of Figueres in Spain, according to Arnoud.
Meanwhile, an exhibition of 350 certified original Dali artworks - all for sale - will open in Yangpu District on December 15.
From sculptures and collage to furniture and illustrations, most of the artworks have been displayed at the Shanghai Art Museum before, but many paintings will be exhibited for the first time in Asia.
Prices will range from 10,000 euros (US$14,281) to 8 million euros.
