Disney resort to kick off 6-week test run

Shanghai Disney Resort yesterday announced the launch of a six-week test operation, starting tomorrow, during which a group of invited participants will get a chance to experience select attractions at the park.

The trial operation is a key pre-opening step for all Walt Disney parks and resorts around the world, the Shanghai resort management explained.

The test run at the Shanghai Disney Resort, which will have its grand opening on June 16, will allow invited participants to enjoy some chosen rides and entertainment and dining facilities on select dates.

However, the participants will exclusively be Shanghai Disney Resort Cast Members, as Disney employees are called, and select resort partners and stakeholders, with participation strictly on an invitation-only basis.

The Shanghai resort will be Disney’s second theme park in China, after the popular Hong Kong Disneyland.
