Individuals, organizations honored for promoting reading
AROUND 200 individuals and organizations were honored today by the Shanghai Citizens Art Festival for their efforts to promote reading among the public.
Classic books about traditional Chinese culture as well as award-winning children's picture books from all over the world have been promoted to kids and white-collar workers through a series of charity events.
A few institutes and libraries have also set up reading clubs to help local people take up the hobby of reading in the digital era. Experts and scholars have shared with people their experience of book selection, reading and family interaction through lectures and WeChat public accounts.
