Producer turns performer with a new album and a city concert date

RENOWNED pop producer and songwriter Zhang Yadong released his own album recently.
Zhang, who has produced albums for stars such as Faye Wang, Pu Shu and Xu Wei, was also the only producer for retired Chinese pop diva Faye Wong's last three albums.
Zhang's new album, "Qian Liu," or "Undercurrent," contains an unreleased track featuring her voice.
Zhang has selected the best of his creations over the past six years and invited singers including Karen Mok, Angela Harry and Pu Shu to sing. Zhang also sings two songs on the album.
He is due to hold his first concert in Shanghai on March 21 at the Luwan Gymnasium which will feature songs from the new album and those made famous by other singers.
Aside from his talent, Zhang is also a favorite with the tabloids for his rumored relationships with many stars - a list that includes mainland actresses Xu Jinglei and Gao Yuanyuan.
