Rock climbing in Lujiazui

A TOP rock-climbing contest will be held amid the skyscapers of Lujiazui area in Pudong. Chen Yiping, deputy director of Shanghai Sports Bureau, said it would be the first time the Rock Master event has been held on Chinese mainland.
The Lujiazui Financial City Cup Shanghai Rock Master 2009 will be held on a specially erected climbing wall in the Lujiazui green land in the shadow of the Oriental Pearl Tower, Jin Mao Tower and Shanghai World Financial Center on May 2-3. The world's top eight climbers have confirmed their participation in the event, which will also be open to amateurs.
