SMG releases new strategic projects at local film festival
SHANGHAI Media Group released new strategic projects with international media groups yesterday at the ongoing 2016 Shanghai International Film and TV Festival.
It will cooperate with Sony Pictures Entertainment and Russia's SPB TV for copyrights and global distribution of Chinese film and TV series.
The collaboration is part of the group's new strategy "SMG Innovations," which focuses on the entire process of the creative content industry, looking to the future layout of developing integrated industry fused with media.
Shanghai Media Group also launched KNEWS, an online live broadcasting news video platform for instant news stories.
During the festival, Le.com also announced that they will collaborate with top-notch production companies from home and abroad to produce 54 blockbuster series covering fantasy, martial arts, suspense and urban love.
Most of the productions are based on popular online novels such as "A Record of a Mortal's Journey to Immortality," and "Every Footstep Makes A Lily Grow".
Celebrated director Zheng Xiaolong, known for his epic dramas "The Legend of Mi Yue" and "Empress in the Palace" will helm a new series about real-life cross-cultural differences - "Beijinger and New Yorker."
Le.com will also cooperate with Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) to present a Chinese remake of the successful South Korean romantic series "She Was Pretty."
