Saudi pavilion to shut down in October

The Saudi Arabia Pavilion, known as the “moon boat,” will be gone in October.
According to the Expo Shanghai Group, the pavilion, which was popular among local residents because of its huge hanging boat shaped structure, will pull down the shutters for good on October 8.
The pavilion also housed a giant cinema and was a popular destination for visitors during the 2010 World Expo, when people waited for almost nine hours to get a look inside. The total number of visitors reached 4.38 million.
After the closure, the site will be incorporated into a development plan for entire site.
