US festival offers an opportunity to connect

FILM industry people from China will have the opportunity to attend workshops and forums where they can connect with their American counterparts at the 12th Chinese American Film Festival.
The event will be held from October 31 to November 30 in the United States, officials said yesterday at the ongoing 2016 Shanghai International Film and TV Festival.
Su Yantao, president of the CAFF, said that more than 200 Chinese and American movies will be screened in Los Angeles, San Francisco and other US cities.
The 94-year-old performing artist Qin Yi was invited to be the festival’s honorary adviser.
Meanwhile, Skylimit Culture has unveiled new projects and strategies in the areas of film production and artificial intelligence. It said it will provide financial support for promising filmmakers, scriptwriters and online novelists.
Kylin Pictures also announced that it had launched an initiative to cultivate talented young film directors.
