Expats invited to photo contest
LOCAL expatriates are invited to take part in a photo contest called "A Wonderful Day of Shanghai Women." The top prize is 5,000 yuan (US$803).
The contest is organized by the Shanghai Women's Federation.
Participants are required to submit photos taken in Shanghai on a single day in November or early December. The photos should capture wonderful moments of local women, no matter their social backgrounds.
Zhou Miao, a publicity official for the federation, said the contest aims to illustrate the role of Shanghai women in the city's economic and social development.
"We are looking forward to reading the stories of Shanghai women through the lens of the participants. Expats are also encouraged to show us their observations of Shanghai women," Zhou said.
Participants can email their photos in JPG format to sh_nxsy@163.com before December 30. Winners of the contest will be awarded cash prizes.
