Popular bar goes out with a bang
IT was a quiet street with people getting ready to sleep, turning their lights off, and night guards chatting with vendors. But in Xinfu Road you will see a different picture, where people, mostly foreigners, scattered around one of the city's most popular bar LOgO, talking loudly.
They all knew this was the last chance they had to have a party at their favorite bar, where they had great memories over the past five years.
The party started about 10pm, when around 200 people filled the bar to bursting.
Inside, there was mixed smell of perfume and smoke with people partying and dancing. It was taking 10 minutes to move from the entrance to the toilet, about 10 meters of hard jostling.
The police sent at least two police cars and several guards to maintain order and to keep the people quiet. It didn't work out too well.
The bar also hosted a special event last night where -everybody could bring their own guitar and bands and play live.
The news attracted hundreds of music fans, DJs, musicians and clubbers who played their favorite songs one after another.
"I've been playing bands around the city in the past few years, but this place is the perfect one because of its environment, its spirit and its influence," said Kevin, a British singer.
It also happened to be a Halloween night. Many people were clad in costumes and you could see an elephant chatting to a chimp at the bar.
Despite the presence of the police, the mood was good and the punters were able to bid farewell to their top spot.
