Zhejiang Province hosts high-end job fair in Shanghai for expats

EXPATRIATES in Shanghai are invited to a high-end job fair on Saturday held by Zhejiang Province's Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, which offers more than 7,000 vacancies at schools, hospitals and companies in neighboring Zhejiang Province.

The job fair will take place at Rainbow Hotel Shanghai on 2000 Yan'an Road W. on November 2. Nearly 300 companies will provide over 3,000 kinds of positions in 60 industry sectors such as education, new materials, mechanisms, photovoltaics, energy, electronics, telecommunications, trade, finance, medicine, chemistry, textiles, construction, agriculture and marine.

College teachers, scientific researchers and management workers in post-secondary education fields are the most wanted, accounting for nearly half of all the job openings. Universities at the fair include Zhejiang University, Zhejiang University of Technology, Zhejiang Gongshang University and Zhejiang Ocean University.

Zhejiang Zhoushan Archipelago New Area, located on the East China Sea, is looking for high-end technical and managerial workers with overseas backgrounds and offers an annual salary of between 300,000 yuan (US$49,260) to 1.2 million yuan to help develop the area, which aims to become a port city like Hong Kong and Singapore.

"We welcome high-end expats with special and practical skills to work in Zhoushan. We are going to build a new international school so that expats can bring their children and settle in Zhoushan," said Wang Zhongzhi, vice mayor of Zhoushan city.
