THE raw material used in anti-AIDS drugs produced in the city will eventually account for a third of international output, while local production of antibiotics will account for a fifth of China's overall output, officials said yesterday at a conference to promote Shanghai's biomedical industry.
In 2012, its biomedical industry "will achieve an output value of 10 billion yuan (US$1.46 billion) while medical devices will achieve 24 billion yuan."
