SHANGHAI is building a first aid network for pregnant women in a critical situation and has made progress in lowering the mortality rate for mother and infant during pregnancy.
About 95 percent of critically ill pregnant women had their lives saved in the past two years. There are now five top-tier hospitals in the city equipped with special clinics to treat critically ill pregnant women.
