THE Shanghai government teamed up with the Chinese Academy of Engineering to establish a research center for scientific development strategies over the weekend to ensure the city's sustainable development.
The center will conduct research and make proposals for building Shanghai into an intelligent city with advanced urban facilities, public transport, new energy products and marine engineering.
"Translation medicine and an intelligent power grid on Chongming Island will be important fields in our research," said Yang Shengli from the Chinese Academy of Engineering.
