City records 13 serious swine flu cases

SHANGHAI Health Bureau today reported that 13 patients seriously sickened by swine flu, including seven children under 10 years old, are being treated at local hospitals. Eleven serious cases were detected in the past week.

The city has detected 1,950 swine flu cases since the first in May. So far 1,616 patients have recovered, including the first two severe cases.

Flu patients are being treated at Shanghai Public Health Clinical Center, Fudan University's Children's Hopsital and Shanghai No. 6 People's Hospital.

A child who suffered the city's fourth serious case of swine flu was removed from breathing machines yesterday after a week of treatment.
