Emergency Calls Rise During July

THE Shanghai Medical Emergency Center responded to 74 calls for heatstroke patients last month, more than double the amount in the same period last year, the Shanghai Health Bureau said yesterday.
Since July, 101 city and district-level hospitals handled 7 million outpatient and emergency services, according to the bureau.
Major hospitals such as Huashan, Ruijin, Zhongshan and Xinhua were seeing 8,000 out-patients and emergency services daily, with some even setting a record at more than 10,000 a day.
