H7N9 patient's husband reported as city's latest case
Shanghai reported another case of H7N9 infection today.
The latest case is a 56-year-old local man, surnamed Gu. He developed flu symptoms on April 1 and is now confirmed as a H7N9 patient.
All of Gu's four close contacts are under close medical observation and so far have not been detected with any suspicious symptoms.
Gu's wife, surnamed Yu, was confirmed as a H7N9 patient on April 4. But there's so far no evidence to support any conclusion that the H7N9 virus was transmitted from Gu's wife to him, said local health authority today.
By 4pm today, Shanghai has detected 21 H7N9 cases including 7 deaths. One child has been discharged from hospital while the 13 other patients are being treated in isolation.
