Hospital launches hotline
XINHUA Hospital today launched Shanghai's first hospital-based medical consultation and out-patient reservation hotline.
Unlike other hotlines offering reservations, Xinhua's hotline receptionists are all medical graduates, says the hospital.
They can offer primary consultation and guidance and work out a detailed plan, says Xinhua Hospital.
"Patients can call the hotline to tell their symptoms, while our receptions can guide them to proper departments and inform the service time of specialists," said Qian Rong, the hospital's patient service center.
The hotline offers a 24-hour service in Chinese, Shanghai dialect, English and Japanese.
It received 1,000 to 1,200 calls every day during the trial last month.
The hotline number is 25078999.
