Medical card misuse fines

PEOPLE who lend their social insurance cards to let others obtain cheaper or free medical services face punishment under new rules, officials warned yesterday.
Those discovered misusing cards under the terms of the medical insurance management regulation, which comes into effect on May 1, will be given a warning by the Shanghai Human Resources and Social Security and could be fined up to 10,000 yuan (US$1,538).
