Shanghai Red Cross lends hand

THE Red Cross Society of China's Shanghai Branch has donated 1 million yuan (US$146,514) for earthquake relief in Qinghai Province plus 3,000 quilts, 400 emergency kits and 12 tents.
That batch was sent last Thursday, but by Saturday, the Shanghai branche had received more than 2 million yuan worth of donations.
It has urged people and businesses to make more donations via special hotlines and a bank account.
The two hotlines are 86-21-52120999 and 86-21-52121199, while its account number at the China Construction Bank Bund Sub-branch is 31001574000050004474.
Postal donations will be accepted at Shanghai Red Cross head office on the 22nd floor, 1465 Beijing Road W., while people wanting to give personally should visit Room 2202, 1465 Beijing Road W.
