Survey: most Chinese white collars poor in health
ONLY 12.3 percent of office workers in Chinese cities say they feel healthy while the majority feel unwell and even complain of some ill symptoms, according to a newly released survey.
About 30 percent of the respondents say they feel sick sometimes; more than 40 percent say they are in poor health; and 13.7 percent say they suffer chronic diseases, shows the survey which interviewed 5,854 office workers in Shanghai, Beijing and eight provinces including Jiangsu and Zhejiang.
Fatigue, poor sleep, memory loss and back pain are the most common signs of poor health among urban white collars.
Poor sleep is reported by nearly 60 percent of the respondents who tend to have fitful sleep and nightmares and have difficulty to get up in the morning, but during the day they feel sleepy all the time.
About half of the respondents say they feel tired all day long.
