Young science buffs get coached by experts
LOCAL primary and middle school students who are interested in science are expected to get guidance from the city's top scientists under a talent training program, Shanghai Association of Science and Technology said today.
A faculty team of 3,000 experts, including 100 top-notch professors from leading universities, will tutor outstanding students who will compete for the next level of advanced training.
A pyramid-style training system will be established after years of practice. The association plans to train 5,000 science enthusiasts, select 2,000 science interns and 2,000 science researchers, and develop 100 senior members and 100 student members each year to stimulate innovation.
