Agencies warned over Thailand trips

SHANGHAI tourism authorities are warning tour agencies to exercise caution when organizing trips to Thailand because of the current situation there. The National Tourism Administration issued a similar warning yesterday.
About a third of the tourists who had booked trips had canceled their trips and tour agencies are canceling packages with only a few members still willing to travel.
Future group tours will be suspended until the situation changes for the better, agencies said.
Tourist groups in Thailand are safe and in touch with agencies in Shanghai and the Shanghai Tourism Administration. All are due to return to the city as scheduled in the original itinerary.
