Airport ranking improvement
SHANGHAI Hongqiao International Airport was rated 27th among 171 airports worldwide by passengers in the first quarter of this year, the Shanghai Airport Authority said yesterday.
Improved restaurants, lower food prices, upgraded toilets and the availability of WiFi pushed up the ranking from 29th in the fourth quarter in 2010, said the airport operator. The customer satisfaction survey was by the Airport Council International (ACI). In 2009, the airport failed to make the top 100. Meanwhile, the city's legislation body is revising airport management regulations, with an emphasis on reasonable prices and stronger monitoring. Hongqiao airport handled 30 million passengers last year.
