Bill privacy

ELECTRICITY bills will be sent to customers in sealed envelopes from later this year, the city power supplier said yesterday. The Shanghai Electric Power Co Ltd said this was intended to protect personal information. Tips on energy saving and payment information will be printed on the back of the bill. Currently, the bill is delivered without any cover, revealing information on power consumption. Meanwhile, residents can apply for an automatic bill payment service in banks, provided they have bank cards, an identity card and recent power bills.
