Bus driver dies

A city bus driver brought his bus to a stop to save the passengers while suffering a fatal heart attack yesterday morning. The incident happened on a No. 738 bus in Putuo District about 6:50am when driver Zhu Delong put his hands on the chest, witness said. Zhu braked the bus before fainting onto the driver seat. Zhu, 58, was pronounced dead at a hospital at 7:42am. Sudden death has claimed eight local bus drivers in the last two years, said the bus operator, Shanghai Bashi Co. Bus driver Chen Leping died of a cerebral hemorrhage during work in Baoshan District in November last year.
