Car plates put up
THE city government put 9,000 car plates up for grabs this month, the Shanghai International Commodity Auction Co said yesterday.
The supply was the same as a month earlier when car plate prices hit a 43-month high. In July, the lowest price was 50,900 yuan (US$7,928) while average rose to 51,173 yuan. Industrial analysts estimated the price for this month will climb again as more consumers are expected to join in competition after losing their bids last month. The auction will be held August 20.
