Cell Phone Software To Give Metro Data

SHANGHAI'S Metro operator will release free cell phone software that can be used to locate toilets at Metro stations, the firm said yesterday.
Such software will be first used on smart phones such as the iPhone by the middle of this month, said Metro officials.
The Metro operator said it's trying new ideas, such as releasing Metro information via various media platforms together with microblogs and TV boards. The app eventually will include other useful information such as maps, stations and transit routes as well as operation times. The software is also expected to tell passengers which lines are crowded and give out better routes.
Officials said they would update the software and apply it to other mobile phones soon.
