City ready to roll out transportation survey

SHANGHAI will begin consulting residents this weekend regarding the city’s transportation situation in order to plan for the future.
Beginning this weekend, the city will conduct door-to-door surveys about the travel habits of residents. The survey will include 75,000 random households covering the city’s 16 districts and Chongming County.
The teams will gather suggestions and collect data about the city’s transport network.
A report based on the survey will be handed to the municipal government and unveiled to the public in the first half of next year. It is expected to serve as an urban planning reference for the next 25 years.
