City weather blowing hot and cold
A STRONG cold front is expected to hit Shanghai tonight with temperatures plunging by 6 degrees Celsius. There may also be rain and thunderstorms, forecasters said.
The maximum temperature will drop from today's 15 degrees to 9 degrees tomorrow, and the minimum from 11 to 6 degrees, the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau said.
Temperatures will drop to 2 to 4 degrees on Saturday but will start to soar after that with highs of up to 18 degrees on Sunday and a minimum temperature of around 8 degrees.
Today will see intermittent drizzle with thunderstorms expected tonight. But by late tomorrow the rain will be replaced by cloudy weather and some sunshine.
The bureau also forecast gales for Yangtze River mouth and the Yangshan Port area at speeds of up to 39 to 88 kilometers per hour.
