Cold snap brings sleet and snow
ANOTHER cold front is coming to Shanghai, ending three days of cloudy weather and carrying freezing rain and sleet, weathermen said this afternoon.
With the rainy-sleety weather, the city's temperatures will drop to between 2 and 4 degrees Celsius, according to the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau.
Tomorrow night, sleet is expected to turn into snow and intensify through Friday with snow accumulation from 4 to 8 centimeters in the city's western and southern suburbs while temperatures fall to zero and 2 degrees, the bureau said.
Similar weather conditions should occur in neighboring Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Anhui provinces and cause icy roads, the bureau warned, urging transport department to take cautions in the peak period of holiday travel.
