Countdown to spring in the city
SPRING will be here officially if the current spell of mild weather lasts until Friday.
It will be cloudy today and tomorrow with high temperatures reaching around 15 degrees Celsius and lows at nine to 10 degrees, according to Shanghai Meteorological Bureau.
Spring is officially here if the average temperature stays above 10 degrees for five days in a row.
On Wednesday and Thursday it will be rainy with the high temperatures about the same but low temperatures slightly higher.
A weak cold front is expected on Friday and the temperatures will drop, which could be the end of the official spring for the time being.
Shanghai has welcomed spring before March 11 for the past five years except for 2005 when it arrived on March 30.
