Coupons To Boost Hangzhou Tourism
SOME Shanghai residents will receive travel coupons from authorities in Hangzhou City next month.
Hangzhou is giving out 40 million yuan (US$5.85 million) in coupons to boost its tourism industry. The coupons will be given to citizens in the Yangtze Delta region.
Travelers will be able to use the coupons to pay entrance fees at scenic sights, and buy theater tickets, food and entertainment while in Hangzhou, capital of neighboring Zhejiang Province, the city's travel commission said.
Shanghai authorities are considering similar measures to boost tourism to the city.
Key tourism project Happy Valley, an amusement park in Songjiang District, will be completed this year.
