Disney fans can stay longer
METRO Line 11 will stay open to 11:30pm tomorrow and Sunday to enable night visitors to Disneyland to get home, the city’s Metro operator said yesterday.
The extension will apply only to trains running from Disney Resort Station to Nanxiang, trains running in the opposite direction will operate as normal. Three trains will be added to run from Disney to Nanxiang from 10:30pm (normally the time of the last train) to 11pm.
The three extra trains will stop at every station. From 11 to 11:30pm, a further four trains will be added, though these will only stop at Sanlin, Xujiahui and Caoyang Road stations.
Tonight, the operating hours of Metro lines 1, 2, 8 and 9 will be extended by 80 minutes to ease traffic conditions on the eve of National Day holiday.
Moreover, three trains will be added at night to take passengers back to the city from Pudong International Airport Station of Metro Line 2 next Thursday and Friday.
The last train normally leaves the airport station at 10pm, but the added trains will leave at 10:20pm, 10:40pm and 11pm.
Traffic will be restricted near the Bund and Lujiazui areas between 3:30pm and 11:30pm from today to Monday due to the lighting show to celebrate the National Day Holiday, police said yesterday.
East Nanjing Road station on Metro lines 2 and 10 will be closed during the restriction period.
The Bund Sightseeing Tunnel will be closed on these days. The ferry service of Dongjin Route from the east to west direction might also be suspended depending on the crowd situation.
On the roads, drivers of small vehicles will benefit from the free-toll policy again when riding along expressways during the National Day holiday, traffic police said.
