Driver detained over 5-car crash

CITY police have detained the driver of a truck that skidded across a rain-slicked expressway into an opposite lane, causing a five-car collision in Fengxian District on Monday afternoon.
A district hospital spokesman said a woman died yesterday morning, sending the total death toll to eight from seven. Police first reported that seven people were killed and seven injured in the crash.
