Flights from Pudong canceled

HURRICANE Irene continued to affect flights from Shanghai to the United States yesterday with more than 1,000 passengers affected by cancellations between Pudong International Airport and New York and Newark.
One flight to Newark has been canceled every day since last Friday.
Flights to Chicago and Detroit also suffered delays yesterday, airport officials said.
Shanghai travel agencies said some tourists heading for the US were being transferred to other flights while others had to postpone departure dates.
