Forecasters say sun is on the way

THE sun will return on Wednesday, weather forecasters said yesterday.

After yesterday's dry spell, rain or snow is forecast for today and tomorrow.

But clouds will give way to sunshine on Wednesday, and the good weather will continue for some days, the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau said.

Today's temperatures will range between 3 and 7 degrees Celsius, dropping to between 1 and 5 degrees tomorrow.

Wednesday morning will see a low of minus 2 degrees, but after that people will sense the imminent arrival of spring, the bureau said.

From Thursday, temperatures will be between 13 to 16 degrees with the minimum above freezing point.

Fu Yi, a forecaster with the weather bureau, said the recent rain, which lasted for nine days up to Saturday, was "not a common phenomenon in Shanghai in late winter."
