overcast weather with light rain is set to persist for the remainder of the week, forecasters said yesterday.

Temperatures in most of Shanghai were around 20 degrees Celsius yesterday, with drizzle in some areas, ending a dry and sunny spell.

This was down on Tuesday’s temperature when the high reached 23.6 degrees.

Today will be humid with southwesterly moisture followed by a weak wave of cold air bringing light rain, said the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau.

Drizzle will see temperatures fall 2 degrees. Highs will hover between 21 and 23 degrees and lows range from 16 to 18 degrees.

Ozone was reported as the main pollutant affecting the city’s air quality at 5pm yesterday, with a reading of 60.

Today’s main pollutant is forecast to be PM10, according to the Shanghai Environmental Monitoring Center.
