Green project

THE greening project that involved putting up 3,124 cement columns under the Inner Ring Road and the North-South Elevated Road has been completed, Shanghai Road Administration Bureau said yesterday.
The creepers rooted in flower boxes at the feet of the columns or planted in the soil of the existing greenery under the roads will coat the grayish columns into green in one or two years’ time. The flower boxes are made from residues of paper which are environmentally friendly.
