Have a role in shaping Shanghai's future
SHANGHAI Daily wants to hear readers' concerns about local life and suggestions for the future in the run-up to the city's two annual policy-making and legislation sessions this month. The annual local plenary meetings by the Shanghai People's Congress and the Shanghai Committee of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference will be held from January 15 to 21.
Representatives from all walks of life elected by the public will gather at the sessions, also attended by local government officials, to review government work and raise proposals on the city's future policies, development and -legislation plans.
Tell us what you most expect from the city's future social and economic development plans - what aspects of local life you think need improving and any other suggestions you may have.
Shanghai Daily will endeavor to arrange interviews with government officials and professionals and put suggestions to them.
And Shanghai Daily is also keen to hear what topics of discussion at the legislative and policy-making sessions you are most interested in reading about: whether it's the city's transport system; how to tackle taxi problems; or possible future economic development policy concerning foreign capital in the city. Or, of course, a different topic altogether. You can e-mail us at editor@shanghaidaily.com or metro@shanghaidaily.com.
There is also an online poll to take part in, which can be found at www.shanghaidaily.com.
