Hongqiao capacity up

SHANGHAI Hongqiao International Airport handled nearly 1.5 million passengers in the first half of the year, an increase of 10 percent from last year. It is a record high for the Hongqiao airport since it resumed its international flight service in 2007. The jump in passengers can be attributed to three factors — various festivals and holidays, the new convenient visa policy and some popular tourist destinations attracting travelers via films or dramas, according to the airport.
