Hot weekend ahead
SCORCHING heat is expected to return this weekend after a short break of cool brought by the rain, weatherman said.
With the strengthening of a subtropical high, the mercury is forecast to climb back up to 34 degrees Celsius on Friday, and get even hotter on Saturday, according to Shanghai Meteorological Bureau today.
Tomorrow and the rest of this week will be mainly showery with some thunder in the morning and cloud in the afternoon. Temperatures should range between a low of 26 and a high of 33 degrees before Friday, the bureau said.
Intermittent rain with winds cooled the city today, bringing the maximum temperature to only 29 degrees.
Clouds were also very low today and visibility was still high at 10 kilometers, the bureau said.
