It feels like summer but rain is coming
SHANGHAI felt like summer today with the mercury climbing above 30 degrees Celsius, the local forecaster said.
Under the influence of a warm air mass, the city's temperature rose quickly this morning and by 1pm it had reached 30.2 degrees Celsius in downtown, the highest so far this year, said the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau.
The warm spell is expected to abate tomorrow with the maximum temperature dropping to 28 degrees Celsius and scattered rains in the afternoon.
A cold front will reach the city on Thursday, sending the maximum temperature to below 20 degrees on Friday, the bureau said.
The city experienced slight drought in recent days with humidity around 30 percent due to sunny weather. The bureau advised locals to drink more water, apply more skin lotion, and avoid long exposure to ultraviolet radiation.
