Jing'an transport hub set for completion in March
CONSTRUCTION of the transport hub in the Jing'an Temple area will be finished in March, in time to start operation before the Shanghai 2010 World Expo starts.
The 20,000-square-meter hub at the intersection of Changde Road and Yuyuan Road will provide a terminal for three bus lines and has an underground tunnel linking it to the Jing'an Temple Metro station, Shanghai Morning Post reported today.
Once the hub starts operating, it will offer at least 330 car parking places and 2,200 places for bicycles and mopeds. There will also be a taxi rank on Yuyuan Road, the report said.
Three more Metro lines will pass through the Jing'an Temple area in the future. Line 7 is under construction, line 12 will soon start construction and line 14 is planned to go through there, according to the report.
