Line 11 extension
THE construction of Metro Line 11's north extension line saw a step forward as a key track section was finished, said Metro builders yesterday.
Construction has started on a Metro station for the Huaqiao section of the line, said officials. The extension line, 6 kilometers long, links the city's Jiading District to the neighboring Kunshan area in Jiangsu Province. Riders will be able to travel in one hour from downtown to Huaqiao and Kunshan when the line opens to traffic next year.
