Line 2 to connect city's two airports
PASSENGERS will be able to travel between Shanghai's two international airports within about two hours on Metro Line 2 by Thursday when the line extends further east, the subway operator said today.
Travelers going to Pudong International Airport must first get off at Guanglan Road Station, the current eastern terminal. Four-carriage trains will then take them to the airport.
The price for a single trip between the two airports is 8 yuan (US$1.17).
Trains from Guanglan Road Station to Pudong Airport will run between 9am and 4pm at first to cover rush hours before the World Expo opens in May. Trains will run every 13 minutes, eventually shortening to about 8 minutes.
The line launched its service at Hongqiao International Airport on March 16 when a new terminal opened.
