Mercury set to climb, more wet days ahead

WITH the mercury topping 30 degrees Celsius, forecasters said the city should brace for more rains.

This week will be all gray and cloudy followed with thunders with the mercury touching 31 and 33 degrees on today and tomorrow.

Due to a swinging plum rain belt, the city can expect wet weather till the end of the month with frequent showers or thundershowers.

It will be mainly cloudy and overcast today with likelihood of some rains.

The mercury will range from 25 to 31 degrees and the high will climb tomorrow with similar weather pattern.

The temperature will dip from Friday with the high falling back to high twenties. It will get warmer again on Sunday with a high of 30 degrees.

According to weather experts, this year’s dog days “San Fu,” or three hot periods, will last for 40 days — 10 days more than the general 30 days.

But Shi Zhicheng, a meteorologist, said the longer “San Fu” doesn’t mean that it will be hotter than the previous years.
