Rain water flowed into stations on Metro Line 2, flooding some tracks and causing signal facilities on the busy line to malfunction.

Trains were forced to slow down and some were even cancelled while the number of commuters at downtown stations such as Zhongshan Park, Jing’an Temple, Jiangsu Road and People’s Square were controlled. No passengers were being allowed into Nanjing Road E., Dongchang Road, Lujiazui and Century Avenue stations on the line.

Services were resumed by about 9:30pm, according to the Metro operator.
